Food

Judging a paella contest.

Acaraje, bibimbap, gumbo – these are a few of Michelle’s favorite things. Finding great, local food is always her primary mission when she visits a place for the first time, and while gourmet is great, she particularly enjoys street food and “hole-in-the-wall” eateries.

In the spring of 2011, Michelle was invited to attend Saborea, a culinary festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she happily ate two six course meals a day, drank too much rum, stalked interviewed Food Network stars and learned new coconut cooking techniques.

When she’s not traveling, Michelle alternates between pretending she’s an Iron Chef in her kitchen and living off a steady diet of Seattle’s amazing happy hours.
