From My Sphere of Domesticity: Post two of anything: book reviews, pictures, quotes, poems, songs, videos, rants, shout outs, whatever floats your boat. Just connect them somehow. That’s it.
And away we go!
1. Blog Award
Kate Hart, writer, comedian, and sewer of fine quilts presented me with this highly amusing blog award.
The challenge: Tell six outrageous lies and one truth about myself, and see who can guess the truth.
So let’s see now…
- I speak fluent Hangul (Korean)
- I spent a month living in Venezuela during college
- My wedding dress cost $13.76
- I have a black lab named Eddie
- My middle name is Tyra
- I can’t stand shellfish
Anyone? Anyone?
I’d like to pass this award on to a few people, people I think will amuse me greatly with the lies they spin. And those people would be Kristin Miller, Kaitlin Ward, and John Rea-Hedrick. Hooray!
2. Book Review
Last night I finished The Replacement, a debut novel by Brenna Yovanoff that’s described as “Edward Scissorhands meets Catcher in the Rye.” And it is. Check out my review on yaHighway.
I mean, look at that cover. LOOK AT IT. It is as wonderfully creepy and odd as you would expect. The book doesn’t actually come out until September, but I’m adding my copy to our explosively hugenormous giveaway on yaHighway next month.

I don’t even have the slightest clue which of those is the truth haha. I want to say the wedding dress one, but, you know, I could be way off.
<3 thanks for the award. I will try to be entertaining

I’ll go with #1 as the truth.
And thanks for the nod! I’ve passed the award on.

‘Right’ because you ARE cheap or ‘right’ because you’re cheap and the answer is #3?
